FAR Training Course

Aims

To provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be a First Aid Responder and understanding required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace in compliance with the requirements of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007.

Objectives

  • Understand the responsibilities of the first aid responder
  • Be able to provide treatment for the purpose of Preserving life, preventing further injury and promoting recovery
  • Be able to provide treatment in the workplace for an injury which does not require attention of a medical practitioner or nurse
  • Be capable of coordinating first aid arrangements in the workplace
  • Be familiar with the health and safety legislation of first aid provision in the workplace

  • Unit 4: Cardiac first response – community
  • Unit 5: Common Medical Emergencies
  • Unit 6: Injury Management and Shock
  • Unit 7: Care of the Unconscious Patient
  • Unit 8: Burns and Electrical Injury Care
  • Unit 9: Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
  • Unit 10: Information Management an Shock
  • Unit 11: Communications an Well Bring of the First Aider

Certification

Each participant will receive a PHECC LEVEL 5 First Aid Responder Certificate

The course is aimed at those who carry out manual handling tasks and their line managers or supervisors.

 This course can be provided over health and safety training via zoom dublin ireland
