Hand Held Applicators (PA6A)
Aims of Course:
This is a one-day practical pesticides training course which is workshop based and specifically working with a knapsack sprayer. The training will focus on safe practice, routine maintenance and calibration of the knapsack.
Our PA6A Pesticides Training and assessment programme enables operators to gain recognition & certification for pesticide application. Successful PA6A Pesticides Training course candidates gain certification after demonstrating their skills, knowledge and attitudes associated with knapsack use & application.
Course content:
- Preparing the sprayer and checking components
- Operating the hand held sprayer in a variety of operating circumstances
- Out of season maintenance and storage
- General Safety
- Calibrating the hand held sprayer
- Decontamination of sprayer and protective clothing
Course Objectives:
- Identify and describe how hand held applicators work
- Identify and select nozzles for various applications
- Achieve the required spray quality
- Carry out pre-start checks
- Calibrate the applicator
- Mix and fill applicator accurately and safely
- Operate the applicator safely and efficiently in various situations
- Prevent environmental hazards
- Decontaminate and store equipment
