Senior Health and Safety Training Consultant

BSc. OSH Mgt., CFIOSH

Tom holds a BSc in Occupational Safety and Health Management from UCD and is a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). He also holds a qualification in Further Education, Training and Development from NUI Maynooth. He has spent over 30 years working in Fingal County Council in areas including Design, Construction and Maintenance of Drainage and Water Schemes.
Tom was a full-time Health and Safety Advisor in Fingal County Council until his retirement. He organised and was a member of the in-house Safety Training Team.

He is a past Chairman of the Local Authorities Safety Advisors Group (LASAG) and was involved in a variety of projects with the Local Government Management Services Board (LGMSB) and LASAG that had national implications.

Tom was a member of the Health and Safety Authority’s Manual Handling Training Standards Sub-group. He has also lectured on the Construction Industries Federation’s (CIF) “Managing Safely in Construction” course.

For a number of years, he was both a tutor and lecturer on the Diploma Course in Occupational Safety and Health in UCD.
