Liam McGinley Training Specialist
Liam Mc Ginley qualified as a Mechanical Engineering Technician in 1972 and joined Dublin County Council in 1974. He has spent the last 38 years working in the Mechanical Section within the Water Services Department in a number of the Dublin local authorities. Initially he worked in the fleet management team which looked after the purchase, maintenance and disposal of the vehicles in the council. In 1991 he returned to College to study to become a Chartered Member of the Institute of Transport and logistics. For the last 20 years has been involved in the construction and maintenance of a variety of waste water treatment plants and pumping stations.
In 1996 the Council decided that they would establish a team of in-house health and safety trainers. Because of his experience in the confined spaces area Liam was approached with a view to becoming a Confined SpacesTrainer. He qualified as a Confined Spaces Trainer that year. He has since qualified as a SafePass Trainer, holds a qualification in Furthur Education, Training and Development from N.U.I. Maynooth ,has completed the C.I.F Managing Safety in Construction and is also a trainer for the 3 day Signing Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks.
He is currently qualified to deliver the following courses :-
- Signing Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks
- Signing Lighting and Guarding at Roadworks (1 day Refresher).
- Confined Spaces Training: Low Risk, Medium Risk, High Risk, Escape & Rescue, Management.
